Dear Scout Families,
We are headed to the Monument on June 2nd, not June 8th as formerly discussed. I apologize and hope this date confusion does not impact your ability to attend!
Visiting a National Park is a requirement for your Cub. As part of this requirement, we will be going through the Parks visitors center, sledding the dunes, listening to live music and participating in the Full Moon schedule found here:

We asked that you meet us at the Visitors Center promptly at 4:00 p.m. on the above date. We will return to Ruidoso very late Tuesday night. Here is a list of items for you to bring for the evening.
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Change of clothes
- Wear Uniform for Visitors Center tour and Junior Ranger program
- Plenty of drinks and snacks
- A sled or other device for dunes
- Folding chairs
Eric and I will provide chicken fajitas. If your Cub prefers another meal, please bring it with you. In addition, I am asking families to bring the following with enough to share.
- Kinsey's, chips and salsa
- Mize's, avocado's and/or guacamole
- Tomas Family, some type of dessert that will not melt
We will have our camper available for shade and bathroom necessities.
