Cub Pack Plans for December

Dear Scout Families,

Can you believe it? The holidays have arrived and with them brings our annual wreath deliveries, holiday potluck, talent show and more family time! Here are a few reminders to keep you on track for Pack events in the month of December.

  • November 27-November 30th: Wreath Delivery!
    • If you are new this year, have no fear, we have this DOWN. Our wreaths will TENTATIVELY arrive the Monday, following Thanksgiving. You will need to pick up your wreaths at our office, 1042 Mechem Drive, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Once I receive a shipping confirmation notice I will text each family to confirm. Please make sure an adult and preferably your Cub are available during this pickup time. Our office will close over the weekend and your wreaths will not be available to you unless you have called me to make special arrangements. **Wear your Santa and or Elf hat for deliveries just for FUN!
  • Our final meetings of 2015 will occur on  December 7th and December 21st.
    • December 7th agenda: Holiday craft to Gift
    • Fundraising Update
    • December 21st agenda: Family Potluck and Talent Show!
      • Either your Cub or your family will need to demonstrate a simple talent so start considering what it is you do well, with little effort!
      • You will need to bring a dish to share. I will assign you a food group in plenty of time!
  • Our Re-Charter for the calendar year of 2015-2016 will be processed next week. I am confident we are in good shape. Our goal for the first quarter of 2016 is to generate 100 or more service project hours. If you have a suggestion, please email me!
  • Reminder: If school is closed due to weather we will not meet. I will send you a cancellation text message if this occurs.
Wishing your Scout Family a Safe and Peaceful Thanksgiving Holiday!

16 November Meeting Plans for Cub Pack #59

Scouters,

Per our last meeting, Eric and I will be out of the country for the upcoming meeting on Monday, November 16th. You and your Cub will be in the capable hands of Sam Mize, Chris Dupnik and Keith Spaniel.

Here is our agenda: Citizenship (Color Guard Introductions and folding of the United States Flag.)

1. Gathering Time: Sam and Chris are tasked with two-deep leadership of an indoor game for the Cubs. I suggest using Google as there are dozens of games online for Cub Scouts.

2. Opening: Keith will lead our Flag Ceremony and Scout Oath. If your Cub has not performed their Oath in front of the group and is ready to earn their Bobcat please plan to do so at our December 7th meeting.

Sam, Chris and Keith, please review this link for updates on flag etiquette.

3A. Folding of Flags: Working in three teams Leadership will be equipped to teach the Cubs to properly handle and fold our flag. I will provide a booklet to Sam this week as well as a flag. Keith will be providing two more flags.

3B. Teach the Cubs the purpose of a color guard and practice formation.

4. Close the meeting with a song to be lead by Chris, preferably fun and patriotic!

5. Our next meeting will not be until December 7th.

Meanwhile in other news:

1. Eric and I will be submitting our wreath orders this week and depositing all associated funds. Once we evaluate the orders I will send an email to all of you letting you know how well we did.

2. Scouting for Food with Troop #59 will be November 14th from 10-2 p.m. at Lawrence Brothers Thriftway and Walmart. Cubs are encouraged to attend to earn service project hours. Scouts will be soliciting shoppers for canned goods to serve the Lincoln County food bank. Please plan to attend, log your hours, and submit them to me via email. Our Pack always needs more hours of service project related work. If you have questions regarding this event please contact our Scout Master, Dana Lenzo at 808.0524. Uniforms are required.

3. I will complete the Packs rechartering package this week and get us all registered. We are growing and this is a very exciting and crazy time!

I am grateful to each of you and wish you a blessed week ahead!

Your Fearless Leader,
Anessa

P.S. Make courageous use of your homeless care packages!
