- The Cubs had a fabulous learning experience due to our guest speaker, State Police Officer, Chad Casson. Officer Casson answered questions about his job and showed us many of the tools and devices he utilizes to keep the public safe. The Cubs were thrilled to see Officer Casson demonstrate the processing of fingerprints, unique to each of us. Thank you Officer Casson! Maybe next time we can arrange a field trip to your office as part and parcel of our Public Safety requirements.
- We will not be meeting, Monday, January 21st, due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Schools are closed.
- Pinewood Derby certificates will be issued to Leaders on Monday, January 28th, during our regularly scheduled meetings. BE THERE.
- Cubs homework reminder (all dens except WEBELO) you are to write down and conduct a fire drill to be used in the event a fire occurs in your home. Where is your exit? Did you check for hot doors/walls? Where will you meet? Where do you go if your parents are not at the meeting spot after 10 minutes? Prepare to discuss.
- Celebrate the Birthday of Scouting with our annual Blue & Gold Potluck Banquet, occurring on February 5th at the Community Youth Center Warehouse @ 6:00 p.m. A Parent/Son Cake contest is planned and we will award prizes in multiple categories. Winner takes home the coveted Wooden Spoon! You are required to sign-up for either a main or side dish (4-6 servings) and R.S.V.P through Anessa no later than January 29th. 575.937.7673.
- Scout Sunday, February 10th, is an opportunity to take your Cub or Boy into his church to talk about Scouting, volunteer to assist or conduct a service project. Dana will provide details of the plans to occur at our sponsor church during our next meeting.
- Reminder: Cubs must be accompanied by an adult/leader at every meeting. In addition, they should always have their book and be working through most of the material it contains at home with their leader.
Okay-got it added to my blog dashboard! Thanks for all the hard work Anessa!!!
