September Reminders & Events
Scouters,
September is always an event-filled month to be a Cub Scout and if your family has recently joined Pack #59, your timing is ideal. We have several new Wolves and a new Webelo whom we will be officially welcoming at our next meeting on September 14th. Please make note of the dates and reminders below and contact me if you have any questions, ideas or concerns!
Cub Master Pack #59: anessa.collins@gmail.com (575.937.7673.)
Family Camp Out at Fort Stanton: Saturday, September 12th through Sunday, September 13th. Arrival time for Cubs is 2:00-2:30 p.m. to set up your tent and camp site. We will have BB guns, Land-Based Casting Contest, Field Games and a Skit for camp fire time with the Troop. Truly, this is one of my favorite events of the year. We encourage you to spend the night as camping is such fun for the Cubs, but you can alternatively depart after campfire time is complete, if you choose.
What to bring? Cub Scouts in full uniform, no sandals, tennis shoes are preferred. All your food and drinks for the event. A campfire and/or camp stoves will be available for sharing. Additionally, you need to bring ingredients for smores, a roasting stick and plenty to drink. *I encourage you to plan something your Cub can cook on his own safely over the campfire. Each of them has a requirement to do so and this is a great way to get it done. Suggestions are provided in the links following this below. Finally, both a stocking cap and warm jacket. We have had a few chilly nights and mornings, so be prepared. The event is open to official BSA members only. Our Pack will use its own funds to pay for your registration fee. Custom annual patches will be available for you to purchase for $5.00. If you are new to the Pack and your Cub does not have a uniform, please call me and I will see what we can arrange in the next week. If you require a full agenda or packing list, email me and I will set you UP!

Reminders: Books from last year are due now. Please drop them by our office for my review so I may order rank advancements for your Cub. D.T. Collins Associates, 1042 Mechem Drive, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Our September Theme is cooperation. We will meet on September 14th and September 28th to work in individual Dens with this theme in mind. If I require you to bring an item, I will text you once I finalize our plans. Always, always, always have your Cubs book in hand. :)
In Gratitude,
Cub Master Collins
